The Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health aims to deliver a truly translational approach to the life sciences, ensuring smooth research pathways - from pure discovery science through to clinical application and patient care. Role within PerPrev-CID
The University of Manchester will contribute to work packages aimed at recruiting patients with rheumatoid arthritis to study (i) whether there are biomarkers of flare using home-based monitoring systems and frequent blood sampling and (ii) the effect of a nutritional intervention to improve outcomes. We lead a work package to identify biomarkers to predict the development of both rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory bowel disease in subjects at-risk of disease using data and samples already collected by Consortium partners.
