The Department of Gastroenterology is equipped with state-of-the-art endoscopic, ultrasound, and functional diagnostic technologies that meet the latest international standards. It is affiliated with the Institute of Digestive Diseases Research (LSMU) and focuses on translational research in gastrointestinal diseases, with a particular emphasis on chronic inflammation, precancerous conditions, and cancer. Role within PerPrev-CID
LSMUH Kauno klinikos is affiliated with the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU) and will serve as a key recruitment centre for patients with inflammatory bowel disease. The team will take part in the recruitment of patients with inflammatory bowel disease for the randomised, placebo-controlled nutrition-based intervention trial aimed at improving patient outcomes. LSMUH Kauno klinikos will work jointly with the team at LSMU and provide multi-dimensional data and previously collected biological material for data generation purposes.
