PerPrev-CID at ECCO 2026: Engaging with the IBD Community
From 18-21 February 2026, several PerPrev-CID partners participated in the 21st Congress of the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation (ECCO) in Stockholm, Sweden. As one of the leading international conferences in the field of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), ECCO brings together researchers, clinicians, and patient representatives to exchange on the latest developments in research and care. Held under the theme “Holistic IBD Care”, this year’s congress emphasised patient-centred approaches, looking beyond purely medical and scientific aspects of care to also address psychological wellbeing, quality of life, and multidisciplinary support in the management of IBD.
Throughout the event, PerPrev-CID was represented at the booth of the International Federation of Crohn’s & Ulcerative Colitis Associations (IFCCA), where partners presented the project’s objectives and ongoing activities, and engaged in discussions with the international IBD community. In parallel, other consortium partners contributed to the scientific programme with talks, presentations and posters on innovative therapeutic strategies, advances in diagnosis, and the identification of early molecular signatures that may help predict whether patients will respond to specific treatments.
Overall, ECCO 2026 provided a valuable setting for exchange and networking within the global IBD community, while also offering the opportunity to connect with other EU-funded initiatives, including 3TR, ImmUniverse, and miGut-Health.
