New Project Video: Discover the Vision behind PerPrev-CID

What if chronic inflammatory diseases could be detected and managed before symptoms become severe? PerPrev-CID has released its first video to introduce the project’s ambition to advance timely prediction and personalised prevention of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) by bringing together patient research partners, researchers and healthcare professionals across Europe.

The video showcases how PerPrev-CID is working to:

• Identify predictors of disease progression and early relapse, including biomarkers, mechanisms and clinical features
• Develop and evaluate innovative digital tools for home-based, continuous health monitoring
• Explore the role of nutrition in promoting better health in people with early RA and IBD
• Develop AI-powered decision support tools to enable earlier, more personalised interventions
• Assess the ethical, legal, economic and societal aspects of disease prediction and prevention while incorporating patient perspectives throughout the research process

The two-minute, animated clip brings this vision to life through the stories of Elena and Lukas, two fictional people living with chronic inflammatory diseases. Their everyday experiences illustrate how PerPrev-CID's research could help people better understand their health, feel more in control of their care and support earlier, more personalised interventions.
